The Life Enrichment Program...
Interactive activities are appropriately scheduled into the daily cycle of residents' lives to help stimulate social, intellectual and spiritual fulfillment.
Our Life Enrichment Activities give purpose to residents' lives, and promote togetherness. Participating in the activities enables residents to showcase their special talents from lived experiences, or explore new activities. For those who suffer from memory loss, being active can help reduce anxiety and maintain higher levels of functionality.
Residents are regularly encouraged to participate in the following activities as their abilities permit, with variation in scheduling, and accountability for their preferences.
-
Walking / Ambulation
-
Chair Exercises
-
Card & Board Games
-
Flower Arrangement
-
Painting
-
Scrapbooking Collage
-
Outdoor Reminiscing
-
Dancing
-
Show & Tell
-
Spiritual Activities
Additionally, we have found that majority of residents have specific preference for Interactive Television Programs such as Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, Price is Right, Family Feud, Music and syndicated Shows. It has been determined that beyond their entertainment value, the programs enable residents to direct their daily routines, and actively engage memory.
Our low resident to caregiver ratio has enabled our Activities Coordinators, Volunteers, and Staff to easily bond with residents and particularly cater to their specific needs and preferences.
